Hermosa enhances healthcare services, achieves major milestones

The Municipal Health Office, under the leadership of Dr. Warren Valencia, highlighted significant advancements in healthcare services during the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony on August 5.

The event showcased the municipality’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of its residents through innovative programs and recognitions.

PhilHealth Konsulta Program.
Hermosa achieved a 107% success rate, serving 85,000 individuals, and leading the province in this initiative. Essential maintenance medications for conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, including losartan, amlodipine, metformin, and gliclazide, have been made available across all barangays. The municipality continues to register residents for free medication access.

SEAL of Healthy Barangay.
Four barangays namely Pulo, Daungan, A. Rivera, and Palihan—were recognized for their exemplary health initiatives, earning them the SEAL of Healthy Barangay award. Nutrition Program. The municipality received the Green Banner Award for exceptional implementation of nutrition programs, showcasing its commitment to addressing the nutritional needs of its residents.

TB DOTS Accreditation.
The local TB DOTS facility has been accredited by the Regional Office as a DOH-certified center, ensuring high-quality tuberculosis treatment and care. Super RHU. The Super RHU has been officially inaugurated, complete with basic medical equipment provided by the Department of Health. New partnerships, including one with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, have been established to supply additional medical tools, such as minor surgery equipment, ultrasound machines, and X-ray machines.

Mental Health Services.
Comprehensive mental health services have been made accessible, reflecting a holistic approach to healthcare in Hermosa.

Dental Program.
The municipality continues to offer free dental services to its residents, further supporting community health.

The ongoing efforts in Hermosa to enhance healthcare services demonstrate a strong commitment to the well-being of all residents, as affirmed by Mayor Jopet Inton. The municipality’s achievements in healthcare are a testament to its dedication to public health and safety.
